Founder & Managing Director

Bachir Mihoubi is founder and Managing Director of FranCounsel Group. FCG is the culmination of more than twenty-five years of international business experience. Bachir has a successful track record in international business development, management, and law, and has transacted business in more than 35 countries. During his years as an international business executive, Bachir realized that while companies knew their own brands very well, they needed help not only in bridging cultural, legal, and business differences, but also in understanding foreign business and legal practices, negotiation techniques and local customs.

Born in Algeria, Bachir was awarded a Diploma in English by the University of Cambridge, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Montreal, a Baccalaureate of Laws from the University of Ottawa School of Law, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law at Austin. Bachir is fluent in English, French, Arabic (Modern Standard Arabic and colloquial Dialects), and Spanish, and has a working knowledge of Italian and Portuguese. He is a licensed attorney in the state of Georgia.

Bachir worked as an international transactions attorney with several major Atlanta law firms, representing both foreign clients doing business in the U.S. and American companies with international business interests. Before forming FCG, he was International Corporate Counsel for AFC Enterprises (which operated more than 4,000 cafes, restaurants, and bakeries in the U.S. and internationally). He also served as Director of International Development for Cinnabon, Director of International Development for Seattle’s Best Coffee, and Vice President of Global Franchising for Caribou Coffee Company.
