Bachir
Mihoubi is founder and Managing Director of
FranCounsel Group. FCG is the culmination of more
than twenty-five years of international business
experience. Bachir has a successful track record in
international business development, management, and
law, and has transacted business in more than 35
countries. During his years as an international
business executive, Bachir realized that while
companies knew their own brands very well, they
needed help not only in bridging cultural, legal,
and business differences, but also in understanding
foreign business and legal practices, negotiation
techniques and local customs.
Born in
Algeria, Bachir earned a Diploma in English from the
British Council at the University of Cambridge, a
Bachelor of Arts. from the University of Montreal, a
Baccalaureate of Laws from the University of Ottawa
School of Law, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from
the University of Texas School of Law at Austin.
Bachir is fluent in English, French, Arabic ( Modern
Standard Arabic and colloquial Dialects), and
Spanish, and has a working knowledge of Italian and
Portuguese.
Bachir
worked as an international transactions attorney
with several major Atlanta law firms, representing
both foreign clients doing business in the U.S. and
American companies with international business
interests. Before forming FCG, he was International
Corporate Counsel for AFC Enterprises, Director of
International Development for Cinnabon, Director of
International Development for Seattle’s Best Coffee,
and Vice President of Global Franchising for Caribou
Coffee Company.
Bachir is
a sought-after speaker and lecturer around the world
on the subject of franchising from both the business
and legal perspectives, and is a frequent media
consultant on international business. Bachir has
lived and worked in Algeria, France, England and
Canada, and resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
